db net solutions was established in the early 2000s, following the initial dot-com boom when many businesses had yet to get online but were keen to do so.

In 2005, XML Sitemaps were introduced by Google to provide webmasters with a standardized way to communicate the structure and priority of pages on their sites, enhancing search engine crawling, and ultimately improving the accuracy and speed of search results.

Interestingly, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) had already been around since the 1990s, with its origins attributed to Netscape. Similarly, it was developed as an XML-based format to facilitate the syndication of website content, allowing users to subscribe to updates from their favorite websites or online publications. It was also adopted as a means for content aggregators, search directories, and search engines to consume content.

While RSS remains very relevant to SEO today, XML Sitemaps have become the focus for website owners to keep search engines up to date. At the time of their introduction, there were not many tools and services to help with creating an XML Sitemap, and so our XML Sitemap Generator for Windows “G-Mapper” was born. This went on to become an online sitemap generator, and later on, we also developed a Wordpress Sitemap plugin.
